Welcome to my wonderful world of Automata.

I am a sculptor and Automata maker working in Cornwall, England, making and carving for over 25 years.

It is a joy to create playful mechanisms and share them. My work has been exhibited around the world in museums and galleries. There are many commissioned pieces in public institutions and private collections.

Commissions and inquiries welcome.

Here are some of the moving creations I have made…

The Automata Repair Man

This man is cycling coming to repair your automata, he is getting old and he looks at the floor and then the horizon,.. but he keeps pedalling, he is carrying his tools in his box. You can see all the tools that he is going to need., Down inside the mechanisms you see a flying man and a fat cat watching him. while two hands, holding hammers, move in a rhythmic way. Down at the bottom there is a collector admiring his automata. On the other side there is a dog that wonders what the fuss is about and turns its head to watch as you turn the handle.

It's 77 cm. High (30 Inches) Automata mechanical sculpture in wood

TransAndes

TransAndes was made in 2001

It was inspired by the bustling buses that you see in villages transporting people, goods and animals to markets to sell in the Colombian Andes

I did another similar bus as a commission also with various characters people, animals and many fruits and Vegetables its call TransPacifico

I will love to make another one in the future, these automata are a lot of fun!
